Video: Lower School Students Become Connoisseurs of Art in Distance Learning
Shana Ryback, Lower School Art Teacher

Lower School Art has presented students with opportunities to learn about and be inspired by true artists, but also to use a creative lens and materials from home to represent their learning. Ms. Ryback masterfully adapted her curriculum to provide projects using laundry, nature and recyclables as tools for exploring art.

Students have also learned about different artists and have created projects inspired by their work. In different grade levels, Lower School students have learned about Faith Ringgold’s Story Quilts, Robert Rauschenberg’s sculptures, Andy Warhol’s pop art and Romero Britto’s works with patterns. Watch the videos below for a sampling of how students are embracing art with a distance learning lens!
