As part of their writing unit on fractured fairy tales, 3rd-grade students were very fortunate to participate in a Zoom session with Tara Lazar, author of Little Red Gliding Hood. Ms. Lazar was described by students as hilarious and interesting. She read her book with various accents and enthusiasm making the read-aloud very entertaining! She ended the session by giving students tips and ideas about how to start their own fractured fairy tales. The trick is to change one word in the title from one of the classic fairy tales and then change the fairy tale elements accordingly! The students were very excited when she gave them a sneak peek of a new book she is currently working on entitled Bloop - it comes out in the fall of 2021!
