How Awesome It Is to be Different and Still Come Together as One
Lydia Malkin, 3rd Grade Teacher
Third graders in Ms. Malkin's class have had an excellent start to the school year! They have been getting to know their classmates while simultaneously building a safe classroom environment where everyone feels included and heard. The students discussed what a community is, how they all play a unique role in their community and how to work together as a team. To encourage creativity, they pieced together a classroom puzzle that spotlights their similarities and their differences. In conclusion of the lesson, the students all came to a strong agreement—how awesome it is to be different, but that we can still come together as one!
