Talented Seventh Graders Examine Album Covers as Art Form
Gili Sherman, MS Art Teacher
Check out the amazing (and professional!) work the 7th grader students did on the project they wrapped last month! Students learned about the 60's and the psychedelic art form that was developed during this time of opposition to war and reconnection to nature and environmental causes.
The students learned how this art movement was very hand-drawn (in opposition to the negative side of industrialization) and closely tied to the music that was being produced at that time.
The students then chose music that they connect with and used the psychedelic style (integrated with other styles) to create a retro album cover of their own design!
