Recently, 6th grade students participated in a Zoom learning session with Mr. David Schechter, who is uncle to student Ethan L.! Mr. Schechter is a journalist who extensively covers food injustice and poverty issues around the nation. He joined our students to discuss his specific coverage on food deserts (an area that has limited access to affordable and nutritious food, in contrast with an area with higher access to supermarkets or vegetable shops with fresh foods). 

The 6th grade has spent the last month learning about food insecurity, which will ultimately lead to direct action on this issue—stay tuned!
