🪐 Advisory Meets Science at the Adler Planetarium
Ms. Sanzenbacher, Science Instructional Leader and Ms. Steele, Middle School Humanities Leader
On Tuesday, our 8th graders went on a field trip to the Adler Planetarium. It was a fantastic experience for these students, serving as both a valuable educational journey and a bonding opportunity. This unique combination of Advisory and Science allowed us to explore the mysteries of our universe and strengthen the relationships within our advisory groups.
As our Science curriculum delves into the theory of Rocket Science, the visit to the planetarium proved to be an excellent way to enhance our understanding of Newton’s Laws of Motion and Einstein's general theory of relativity. We experienced forces, motion, and gravity through exhibits like Mission Moon, Our Solar System, The Universe, Telescopes, Chicago's Night Sky, and the Planet Nine show.
The day was filled with excitement and teamwork as we competed in an advisory photo scavenger hunt, working together to capture moments that will undoubtedly be hilarious memories of the 8th-grade year. This field trip was about bringing the grade together because we are stronger, more resilient, and happier when working together than apart.
