Last week, Ms. Barak's 5th-grade class was lucky to have Shira, one of Bernard Zell's ShinShinim, with them for the entire week! Shira helped as students performed a play about parashat toldot and assisted as they created their own shuk (market).

Students have been learning how an Israeli shuk operates and how this marketplace looks, smells and sounds in order to bring the experience fully to life. Each gibush created their own shuk, and while COVID restrictions prevented the use of real food, students exercised their creativity and each came up with their own item to sell.

Throughout the shuk experience, students spoke in Hebrew and bought and sold items with Israeli play-money. Ms. Barak and her students are so thankful that Shira could be with them all week long!
