Marthe Spizman, Junior Kindergarten Teacher
Students in JK104 were recently introduced to our Kebo Robots last week and have really enjoyed using them! The robots use a series of connectable blocks with directional and auditory commands. Using barcodes, the Kebos scan each block (similar to a grocery store check out) and then complete the sequence. These robots teach coding to young children in the way the blocks must be put in correct sequences (with a “start” and “stop” block at each end) and use “if/then” formats to complete commands. The students can code the robot in such a way that if it hears a clap, (or loud noise) it will then perform the next command. The students also exercised great patience in turn-taking and learning to use the robot and its functions!
