Image and Memory: Yesterday and Today
Abigail Spalding, Marketing & Communications Manager
Last week, our eighth-grade class welcomed very special guests to campus to view their Holocaust photo exhibition entitled “Image and Memory: Yesterday and Today.” Since the beginning of the school year, students researched and conducted interviews with Survivors and their family members and the result is a stunning outdoor gallery honoring the lives of those who lived through the atrocities of the Holocaust. Our once shy preschoolers who entered Bernard Zell 11 years ago are now confident young adults who stood and graciously welcomed Holocaust Survivors, the Survivors' children, as well as their own parents to campus for this incredible exhibition. At Bernard Zell, we often say you can’t impact the world if you don’t understand it. This project has demonstrated that the Class of 2021 has developed an understanding, made a profound impact and are now poised for even greater contributions as they head off to high school.
