How do I talk to my kids about race? Join us February 14 for an Interactive Parent Education Session

In recognition of Black History Month, please join us on Tuesday, February 14, for an interactive parent education session facilitated by Johanna Thompson and Deanna McBeath.
The session will include a discussion about how we as adults talk & think about race, highlight stories that center the lived experiences of Black parents and young people in Chicago, and provide an opportunity to practice and reflect upon complex conversations and questions kids may have.
In advance of the session, we invite parents to prepare by learning about how Black middle schoolers in Chicago changed the name of Douglass Park from honoring slaveholder Stephen Douglas to honoring Frederick and his wife Anna Douglass. There are two ways to learn:
