The 5th graders are preparing for their first overnight trip of their middle school journey, the Shabbaton. This year, they will travel to Camp OSRUI in Oconomowoc, WI. Not only is this their first trip together as a grade, but it is also their first time chanting from the Torah. The students have been busy learning p’sukim from Parshat Vayera, and each child will be called to the Torah during Saturday morning Shabbat services. They will also participate in different Shabbat activities, including challah making, Torah skits, talent shows, and more. Additionally, the 5th graders will be responsible for planning elements of the Shabbaton through various committees. We are so excited to see the programs they plan!
