Diana Levich, Lower School Jewish Studies Teacher
The 1st grade classes have been working diligently on their Hebrew reading and conversational skills. From toast day to ice cream day, we have learned many new words, and all students enjoy making sentences, and asking questions: "MA? MEE? KAMAH? LAMAH?" We also practice a lot in Hebrew phonics/phonetics, which helps students to learn and to remember letters and sounds. First graders enjoy reading books in Hebrew and practicing writing words. They also excel in presenting weather forecasts in Hebrew.
