EYNTK: Grandparents & Special Friends' Day 2023

We can't wait to welcome our grandparents and special friends to campus on Friday morning! Please review the important information below for this year's program, including the schedule of events, parking instructions and the livestream link.
Important Note for Parents:
Please send your student(s) to school on Friday in their BZ Music Festival shirt or any BZ shirt, with a dark-colored bottom.
  • 7:30 a.m. — Book Fair Opens
    • Grandparents & Special Friends can visit the Book Fair on their own or with their student(s). Please note, students must be in their classrooms by the following times:
      • Early Childhood: 8:30 a.m.
      • Lower School: 8:15 a.m.
      • Middle School: 8:00 a.m.
  • 7:30 - 8:45 a.m. — Continental Breakfast and Registration
  • 8:15 - 8:45 a.m. — Middle School Classroom Visits with 5th - 8th Grade Students
  • 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. — Morton and Zelda Reisman Music Festival 
    • The music festival will be livestreamed for anyone who is unable to attend in person and will be available at bernardzell.org/SFD23 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12.
  • 10:45 - 11:15 a.m. — Early Childhood and Lower School Classroom Visits with Nursery - 4th Grade Students
  • 12:00 p.m. — Book Fair Closes
Parking in the school lot is limited to those with a handicapped placard on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest street parking or park at Halsted Flats by purchasing a voucher online. Visit Halsted Flats parking and follow these directions:
  • Select the "Validation" option.
  • Enter this access code for up to 4 hours: dayschool1
  • Enter this access code for more than 4 hours: dayschool2
  • Select "update" to see discounted parking costs.
  • Select the permit you need and add to your cart.
  • Make your payment.
Print out your parking validation and show it at the garage entrance, placing the barcode at the red screen area. A ticket will be dispensed which can be used when you exit the facility.
The music festival will be livestreamed for anyone who is unable to attend in person and will be available at bernardzell.org/SFD23 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12. Please note there will not be a Zoom component for classroom visits.
