EC Students Welcome Special Guests for Kabbalat Shabbat
Abby Aloni, Head of Early Childhood

Despite our shift to distance learning, the Early Childhood community continues to gather every Friday for our much beloved Kabbalat Shabbat celebrations! Students always begin with singing Hinei Ma Tov U'ma Naim, Behold how good and how pleasing it is to be together in unity.

Over the course of the month of May, we welcomed special guests from around the world to gather in unity to celebrate Shabbat together. Our students' grandparents and special friends joined us during our Bernard Zell Special Friends' week. It couldn't have been more lovely and certainly brought a lot of tears as our families reunited!

On another Friday, the children welcomed back Grandma Reni and Grandma Ali, our JK GrandFriends who come to us from our partnership with Ideal18. On that day, we also honored our Early Childhood volunteers, Savta Rama (grandma to Jonathan and Talia Snyder), Grandpa Michael (grandpa to Finley Mann), and Ericka Thacker (mom of Dalia Thacker) Throughout the year, all of our GrandFriends and volunteers built special relationships with our students through stories, games, songs and simply spending time together. We are thankful for their dedication to our students and teachers and for the love they shared with all of us! We love them right back!
