Throughout their time at Bernard Zell, the Class of 2023 have cultivated a wealth of memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. From their Climate Action Evening this spring—where our students presented climate-focused solutions for a sustainable city of the future to their parents, faculty and staff, to outstanding Freaky FridayOperetta performances—where they showcased their acting and singing talents, to their adventures in Israel on Tiyul—which strengthened their bond as a class and a deep commitment to their Jewish identity, and finally—welcoming a Holocaust Survivor Torah, originally from the town of Rychnov, to its new home here at Bernard Zell. This project not only broadened their understanding of their history, but it also instilled in them a profound sense of duty and compassion. As each of our graduates took to the stage to deliver their favorite BZ memory at this year’s graduation ceremony, the audience and viewers at home were taken on a rollercoaster of laughter, joy and tears—our hearts bursting with pride for each of these remarkable 42 students.
As our newest alumni begin their new journey in high school, there is an overwhelming sense of anticipation for what lies ahead. The skills, knowledge and values instilled in them during their time at Bernard Zell will undoubtedly serve as the foundation for their future successes. It is our hope that these graduates will continue to embrace the values of empathy, kindness and social responsibility as they navigate the challenges and opportunities that await them.
