In social studies, the third graders have started their exploration of the Chicago neighborhoods. First, the students investigated the symbols found on the American, Chicago, and Israeli flag. Then the students made their own flags with symbols that represented themselves, including one symbol that represented their Jewish identity. Next, they created symbols that represent the neighborhoods that they live in.
