๐Ÿฒ 3rd Graders Venture to Chinatown to Experience Chinese Culture
Benje Casper, 3rd Grade Teacher
Back in January, our 3rd graders began the new year by identifying, investigating and researching the many neighborhoods of Chicago. After individually researching the neighborhoods they live in, the entire 3rd grade class took a deep dive into the Chinatown neighborhood by learning about the Chinese New Year, the Zodiac animals and Chinese Culture. Last week, their research on Chinatown culminated in an immersive, guided walking tour, a visit to the Chinese Museum and their very own meditation session at the Buddhist Friendship Association!
Some of their favorite experiences were the dragon wall, taking pictures of our Zodiac animals, learning how Chinese immigrants created Chinatown and looking at all the interesting menu items on the windows!
