Light and Flight 101 in Lower School Science
Cezar Simeon, Lower School Science Teacher
Students in 1st grade just wrapped their science unit investigating the properties of light. During this unit, students explored how light makes it possible for us to see objects. During their investigations, students worked with laser pointers, colored flashlights, prisms and diffraction lenses.
In Technology and Engineering, students in 3rd grade explored the physics of flight by building different paper airplanes with different wing shapes and stabilizers. During the session, they also created parachutes and non-airplane-shaped gliding toys!
