๐Ÿšธ 6th Graders Walk the Legacy Walk in Lakeview
Beth Sanzenbacher, MS Science Instructional Leader
Our neighborhood of Lakeview, ranked among top neighborhoods in the U.S. for 2023, offers an abundant amount of history and education right outside our classroom doors. You've probably noticed that along the half mile of the North Halsted Street Corridor, between Belmont and Grace Street, there are 25 feet tall steel "Rainbow Pylons" that define the Legacy Walk—an outdoor, educational LGBTQ+ history exhibit.
Each student researched the life and work of notable LGBTQ+ individuals who are memorialized in the pylons. During the walk, the students became tour guides and presented what they learned about the individual they researched. We were proud of their professionalism and the quality of their research!
