Are you and your kids looking for a reason to get out of the house? Do you love animals and like to volunteer for meaningful mitzvahs? If you answered yes to those questions, we have great news for you (and our furry friends at the shelter)! Our amazing PTC Yad B'Yad Committee are asking for volunteers to assist in making toys for shelter animals on Sunday, February 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Anti-Cruelty Society.
The day will begin with a brief introduction to the facility and a short tutorial with the crafts needed to make toys. There will be ample time for participants to make as many crafts as possible. Additionally, we will have small groups on tours of the facility throughout the program and hopefully will get to meet an animal or two!
While some craft materials will be available onsite, we are asking that participants please consider bringing in additional supplies such as:
-
fleece fabric for the no-sew beds
-
old t-shirts for dog tug toys
-
pipe cleaners for cat toys
-
old sheets/fabric to cut into squares for catnip sachets
