The Yad B’Yad PTC Committee is partnering with "Project I Am" to create Blessing Bags benefiting people who are experiencing homelessness. Come join us on Sunday, November 7 from 10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Chi Che Wang Park to fill the bags and build awareness of homelessness. We will supply materials to create the blessing bags at the event. Founder of Project I Am, Jahkil Naeem Jackson, will be on the field cheering us on and sharing with the BZ community more about his mission and the organization that he started at just eight years old. Young people can change the world, and our community can help, one blessing bag at a time.
If you are unable to attend the event and still want to participate in our annual Blessing Bags collection, please use the guidelines below to create yours with your family and drop them during morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up on Monday, November 8. There will be designated bins at Bernard Zell to collect the bags.
Create Blessing Bags with any bag you choose and with any of the following items:
  • socks
  • deodorant
  • hand sanitizer
  • granola bars
  • antibacterial wipes
  • gloves
  • toothbrushes
  • toothpaste
  • bottled water
  • masks enclosed in plastic
  • hand/foot warmers

Please also include a note card with a special message of hope (i.e. “stay healthy” or “bless you”). Feel free to email Diane Welbel with any questions.
This event is open to all Bernard Zell families and limited to the first 50 families who sign up. For specific questions related to logistics of the event please email Diane Welbel directly.
