Ido, Nir, Nitzan and Roman, BZ Shinshinim
Hello Everyone!
We are the new Shinshinim: Ido, Nitzan, Roman and Nir. We came from Israel for a gap year between high school and the army to volunteer at Bernard Zell and share our experiences of Israeli life. We are thrilled to be a part of your amazing community.
As you might have seen and heard, last week we held the “Shinshinim Fest,” during which we introduced ourselves to all the students, faculty and staff at school! We had a morning welcome, a personality table with pictures and items we brought with us from Israel. In addition, we showed all the students our hobbies in a fun way: Roman held a table with fun mind games, Ido played sports games, Nitzan showed her love for jewelry by making friendship bracelets and Nir showed her passion for baking with cookie decorating!
We hope everyone had a good time and got a chance to get to know us a bit.
Now we need your help:
Hanukkah is coming our way and as part of our plans, we wish to make a community recipe book for Hanukkah. This book will be built from recipes you, Bernard Zell community members, send us. We believe that this will help us celebrate each other's different customs of Hanukkah while connecting us all through the spirit of this holiday which helps us remember the power to move from darkness to light.
So we ask everyone, students, parents, teachers and every other member of the community, to send us your family's special or favorite recipe!
Please submit your recipes here or email them to shinshinim@bernardzell.org by Monday, November 22.
