A Heartfelt Farewell to Ms. Bonnie Gamze and Welcome to Ms. Leah Frydman!

Lauren El-Mofty, Director of Learning Services
After 8 years of dedication and service, Bonnie Gamze will be leaving her role of school Social Worker at Bernard Zell to take care of herself and spend more time with her family.  She has worked throughout each division and with every grade level in her time here. Bonnie has touched the lives of many students, faculty, and families alike. We are grateful for Bonnie’s incredible insight, sense of calm and resourcefulness over the years. While Bonnie will no longer be present day-to-day with us at school, we will continue to embody the skills she has taught us and the values she shared each and every day. As someone who always encourages others to practice self-care, it is now her turn to do so! I hope you join me in wishing Bonnie well in her journey ahead.
I am very pleased to share an introduction of Leah Frydman. Leah will be joining us as the Social Worker for Lower School and Early Childhood starting on January 3. Leah is passionate about working in the Jewish community. Prior to getting her master’s degree in social work from Columbia University in New York she worked at Taglit Birthright Israel, Shorashim and the Center for Jewish Genetics. Leah has spent the past few years working as a school social worker in public schools serving students from nursery through high school. Leah is looking forward to supporting our community, helping students to engage with their Jewish values and sharing strategies and resources with our families. We are thrilled to welcome Leah to Bernard Zell!
