Please read below for an important message of gratitude from our 2020-2021 Student Council on the success of their Hot Chocolate Sale!
Dear Parents,
In the week before mid-winter break, the Student Council ran a hot chocolate sale. We worked hard to advertise, communicate with each other and distribute. In the end, we were very pleased with the numbers.
We are happy to announce that we sold 359 jars, and made a net profit of over $1,100! (The total profit will be announced soon.) With this money, we plan on donating funds to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, specifically their food buying program.
In the 2019-2020 season, the Greater Chicago Food Depository provided 77.5 million meals to the Greater Chicagoland community, which is the most output they have had in their 41-year history. 36% of that was fresh produce, which can be very hard to buy for some but is very important for a healthy lifestyle.
We would like to give special shoutouts to Chef Ben, Ms. Candace Chesler, Ms. Devorah Solomon and the maintenance team for helping us in a multitude of facets, from setting up the website to collecting purchases to helping us make the food. We would like to thank you, the parents, because without your support, we could not have had such a successful event!
