JoAnn Wexler World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) will take place throughout the school day on Wednesday, February 5. Dedicated to the memory of beloved 4th-grade teacher JoAnn Wexler, the day celebrates the importance of reading. Ms. Wex loved children's literature and reading aloud to her generations of students. Readers from Bernard Zell staff will volunteer to read in classrooms throughout the day.

World Read Aloud Day is sponsored by Lit World an international non-profit organization devoted to the belief that literacy is a basic human right. In an effort to raise awareness about the almost 800 million people in the world who cannot read or write, they ask that readers all over the world share books and stories with others.
