Dear Middle School Families,
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 25th and 26th. This first round of Middle School conferences will be reserved for parents and teachers. Parents have the opportunity to meet with all individual teachers and engage in a rich conversation about their child. Our teachers will be arriving with student work samples, up-to-date feedback and insight about how students are learning, growing and even engaging in good struggles. When meeting with teachers, we encourage you to share what you observe and hear at home.
On Friday, November 22nd, families will be able to access student progress reports from BZ Connect. It’s important to recognize that progress reports reflect where your students are at this point in the semester. All grades will have checklists completed for all classes as well as advisory. In grades 6-8 students will also have a letter grade. Please remember that these grades are not set in stone, they will fluctuate between now and the end of the semester.
At our spring conferences in March, we will welcome students to join the conversation! Additionally, we will be making adjustments to our conference structure to allow for greater ease in scheduling while still providing a comprehensive view of how your child is doing across all subjects.
While conferences fall twice a year, we are always here to connect with you. Essential to your child’s success is our partnership between home and school. Our teachers work tirelessly to know each student as an individual and build meaningful relationships. Spending time daily with students both individually and in the context of a larger class setting, they are here to help students stretch and grow while being surrounded by a loving and nurturing environment.
If you would like to schedule time with me during conferences, please do not hesitate to reach out. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you. Each day I learn from our students and teachers. Conference day provides an extra chance to chat one on one with parents. I look forward to seeing you on November 25th and 26th.
Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom,
Head of Middle School
