The 7th graders kicked off their exciting D.C. adventure early this morning. After landing, we quickly gathered our luggage and set off for a packed day full of history, learning, and fun. Once on the bus, the students impressed our tour guide with their trivia knowledge.

Our first stop was the atrium of the National Portrait Gallery, where we enjoyed lunch from Shouk. Then we hit the monuments and memorials. The 7th graders served as our tour guides, each delivering informative presentations about the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and finally, the World War II Memorial.

Next, we headed to the International Spy Museum, where students dove into the world of espionage. From learning about real-life spies to completing their own "missions," everyone had a blast! We even participated in a “hang time” competition, where Raya, Ella, and Maya broke the record with a 60-second hang.

Though rain put a slight damper on our evening, we returned to the hotel to wind down after dinner at Char Bar.

Our first day in Washington, D.C., was unforgettable! We walked many miles, visited some of the most important sites in American history, and even learned a few spy tricks along the way. Everyone is excited to see what tomorrow brings!
