When we got to the airport, it was fun connecting with all of my friends. The flight was long, but when we reached Italy, everyone was immediately excited. We all wanted to start doing activities right away. The bus ride was long, but it gave us a chance to sleep and play games, especially after the long plane ride.
While driving, we noticed there were many animals, including pigs, goats, and sheep. We were also able to take in the beautiful scenery and greenery while we drove through the hills. We noticed the culture was different from the US; there was more greenery and the houses were cute and colorful. I loved seeing all the different roofs, windows, and doors.

When we arrived at Bagnoregio it was beautiful, and we had chicken for lunch. It was very steep walking to the city, which sadly will someday disappear because of erosion. We saw Harry Styles' vacation home. It was beautiful.

The architecture that Bagnoregio had was mesmerizing. For example, we visited the singer Harry Styles' house. The house felt very calm and more beachy and chill then normal celebrity houses. The streets and people living there were quiet, but social. When we were walking the streets I was able to feel how Italians lived. You could see how beautiful the buildings were from the bottom of the bridge.

Jewish Connections: Pitigliano - The Italian Town Known as “Little Jerusalem”
After Bagnoregio, we drove to Pitigliano. It was so beautiful and showed us how Jewish people in Italy lived many centuries ago. The first location that we went to was the synagogue. It was fascinating because I could still feel its spirit, even though it is no longer in use. Afterward, we went underground and explored the wine cellars, old matzah distributors, and the site of the Mikvahs. Next, we went back up to the modern city and walked around. We took pictures, took in the beauty of the city, and finally got our first gelato of the trip. It was delicious, and exploring the city was an overall amazing experience.
