Tiyul '25 Blog | Day Two | Kibbutz, Har Arbel, Tzfat, Safed Puzzle Room, Tel Dan, Jordan River Raft
Ms. Einberger
Jack S. and Avriel V.:
We just finished an exhilarating climb down the rocky Har Arbel. As we carefully scaled the cliffside, holding onto ropes and iron handles, we were rewarded with awesome views of the city below. We also toured an old fortress built into the cliff, learning about its historical significance as a hiding place for Israelites fleeing their enemies in its cave-like structure. Hiking the Arbel was an amazing experience to share with our grade. We supported each other throughout the descent. Notably, our entire Bernard Zell group was the first to climb all the stairs to reach and explore the fortress at the top! It was an incredible experience, and we eagerly anticipate more adventures like it.
Sophie M. and Morgan K.:
We just completed a fantastic rafting trip on the waters of the Jordan River. It was an incredible and adventurous experience, made even more interesting by the low water level. We challenged each other by racing our rafts and enjoyed a refreshing swim. Teaming up against each other, we raced down the river. It was so exciting, and we all wished the experience could have lasted longer.
Henry B. (Tzfat):
Our time in Tzfat was truly memorable. First, we visited the Safed Puzzle Room, where our whole class worked together on a puzzle escape room. We deciphered clues and solved puzzles based on paintings and hints scattered throughout the room. Afterward, our tour guide, Abbie, led us through the mystical city of Tzfat, where we admired beautiful art and ancient synagogues. We learned about the rabbi who wrote the Zohar and discovered how the city's unique geography is shaped by being built into the side of a mountain. The prevalent use of the color blue, we learned, serves as a constant reminder of G-d and the sky.
