AJ S.: Last night and today, we had the incredible opportunity to experience Yom HaAtzmaut in Israel. Our entire grade went to Ben Yehuda Street together, and we all dressed in Israeli flag attire. Upon arrival, we were given foam and silly string, and kind of went wild – even the teachers joined in! It was a lot of fun, and we also had the chance to explore shops for snacks and souvenirs. Today, we visited a park where we enjoyed a delicious BBQ with hot dogs and hamburgers. We also played frisbee and hung out. The park was filled with other groups of friends and families, giving us a glimpse into what Yom HaAtzmaut is truly like in Jerusalem. Overall, I am so happy I got to experience this holiday in Israel surrounded by Jewish people.
