Class Description: This course is for students who are new or relatively new to the game. Students will learn the basic rules of the Chess game:  How the pieces move and what their point values are; how the pieces capture; the concepts of Check and Checkmate; all the rules of Castling, Pawn Promotion, etc.  Once these skills are understood, the students will begin learning the basics of chess strategy.  The students will also put theory into practice by playing their peers.
