We wanted to share our immense gratitude with you, our entire community, for participating in our first-ever Day of Giving! The day was full of energy and excitement, and together we were able to create an event that was both safe and fun while benefitting our students and school.

Your generosity also gave the students some immediate things to enjoy: from seeing Division Heads in crazy wigs to dunking Mr. Weisserman in the dunk tank and pajama day for the entire school.

We are pleased to announce that after setting goals of raising $500,000 and 50% parent participation, our community, as always, exceeded our hopes. The Annual Campaign reached over $750,000 and 57% parent participation! Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers, faculty and staff for making this a day to remember.

Every gift to the Annual Campaign will impact the student experience this year. With your support, we hope to:
  • Create a media lab where students can produce, write and edit podcasts, websites and more.
  • Purchase portable single-board computers so students can work on programming in school and at home.
  • Acquire music software to maximize learning and creativity virtually and in-person.
Though The Day of Giving is over, the Annual Campaign still needs and appreciates your support. If you have not yet made a gift to the Annual Campaign, please click on the links below.
We would also like to offer a hearty mazel tov to our raffle winners:
Faculty/Staff Winners of GrubHub Gift Cards include:
  • Candance Chesler, Director of Information Technology
  • Sarah Sweet, Middle School Social Worker

Donor Winners of HUGE Bernard Zell Swag Bags include:
  • Sarah and Nat Sager
  • Elissa Gitlow and Jason Hecker
As we launch our Annual Campaign, we are humbled by everything that has been made possible by donors like you, allowing us to make the necessary upgrades to safely welcome students back to campus. We created outdoor classrooms, added iPads and Chromebooks suitable for each student’s needs, upgraded the air ventilation systems, bought the necessary PPE and provided emergency relief to families in need.
Now, through our first Day of Giving on Thursday, October 29 we aim to raise $500,000 towards the Annual Campaign to continue to support our community and student learning. Typically, by the end of October we have achieved 20% participation from our families, but this year we hope to more than double that goal and reach 50% participation.
We look forward to celebrating our Annual Campaign donors leading up to the Day of Giving (for a chance to be highlighted, email Sarah Horowitz with a quote and family photo about why you give to BZ). All donors to the Annual Campaign will be entered into raffles to win cool prizes for you, your students, their classes, their teachers and more!
Please consider making an early pledge to the Annual Campaign and participate in this momentous day! Here are some things you can look forward to when you make a gift to the 2020-2021 Annual Campaign:
  • NEW magnets that celebrate your continuous years of giving to Bernard Zell Anshe Emet  Day School
  • Entry into raffle to win a HUGE BZ Swag Bag full of exclusive BZ gear
  • Entry into raffle to win gift cards for your students’ teachers
  • Milestone 1: If $400,000 is raised towards the Annual Campaign by 11:00 a.m. on October 29, BZ Division Heads will all wear silly wigs for the remainder of the day
  • Milestone 2: If $450,000 is raised towards the Annual Campaign by 1:00 p.m. on October 29, BZ students will get to come to school in their pajamas on Friday, October 30
  • Milestone 3: If $500,000 is raised towards the Annual Campaign by 1:00 p.m. on October 29, then Head of School Gary Weisserman will be dunked in a dunk tank LIVE for our students and families to stream!
Thanks for making a difference in our school community and we hope you will support the Annual Campaign!
