Hopes and Wishes of JK 103
In light of the new year, students in JK 103 discussed what a hope or a wish was. Many of the children were eager to share their ideas and what their hopes and wishes for the new school year were. Their thoughts were whimsical, real, and innocent, and exhibited a wonderful way to connect and start off the new school year together.
2nd Grade Learns About Virtues in Music Class
The 2nd grade class has been learning about positive character traits in music. The students learned a body percussion (pat-clap) pattern and discussed what a virtue is.

6th Grade Explores Big Idea Topics with 3-Dimensional Paper Sculpture
After surveying some exquisite paper sculpture creations of contemporary artists and learning some cutting and folding techniques, the 6th-grade classes are working in pairs to convey "humor" as a theme. The students are enjoying the process and the results have been humorous!

Parents and Students Practice Tikkun Olam
Our Bernard Zell parents continue to exemplify the commitment to education and Jewish values that helps define the spirit of our school! Recently, parents and students practiced tikkun olam (repairing the world) when they cleaned up Montrose Beach in partnership with Alliance for the Great Lakes. 3rd and 4th Grade Math Lab
This year we are thrilled to offer Math Lab, a twice-weekly math enrichment program geared to third and fourth-grade students. If your child has a growing passion for math, loves problem-solving and enjoys discovery and investigation, Math Lab is the perfect fit!
Student Council to Sponsor "Hole" Food Sale for Victims of Hurricane Florence
To benefit victims of Hurricane Florence, the Bernard Zell Student Council will be selling food items such as bagels, donuts and cheerios in Cummings on October 8 - 12 from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Swing by and show your support for Student Council as they raise money for those in need!
