Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School is an independent Jewish day school for the 21st century. From Early Childhood through Middle School, we inspire our students to love learning through innovative teaching, hands-on exploration and discovery.

Founded in 1946, our school was created to bring the best of progressive education and Jewish heritage to Chicago’s Jewish community.

A Bernard Zell education transcends everyday school life by welcoming students and their families into a warm Jewish community.
Our admissions committee seeks student applicants who we believe will have the best likelihood for a successful and satisfying school experience. Family is an integral part of a Bernard Zell education, and we seek families who take a strong interest in their children’s development and who will partner with us to support their children’s education.
Affiliation and practice within a particular movement is not considered in the admissions process. Our community represents the wide spectrum of Jewish life, and tuition assistance is available for those in need.
We encourage you to take the next step forward in creating an excellent education for your child by submitting an online Inquiry Form, visiting our campus for a personal tour or by attending one of our upcoming open houses—it is the best way to get to know us!

PORTRAIT OF A GRADUATE

Before your graduate spins on stage in Nursery as a dreidel during the annual Hanukkah Music Festival, before they proudly read from the Torah for families and friends, before they embark on a life-changing Tiyul experience in Israel and before they pose for the traditional graduating class photo on the Synagogue steps—your child will acquire the education and skill set that will help them grow into future leaders of the Jewish community.
