Student Services at Bernard Zell

Mission of the Student Services Department

The Bernard Zell Student Services team brings powerful collaboration, specialized knowledge and skills to facilitate learning, a lens for seeing things and people from new perspectives, and an open-minded vision of who each child is and can be. As experts in our fields, we support the students, families, faculty, and staff of Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School to make learning inclusive and successful for all students.

Who Gets Student Services

• Students are identified for additional support through one or more of the following measures:

  • Private evaluations with diagnostic findings and recommendations

  • School-based screenings

  • Classroom observational and anecdotal data

How do We Provide Services

We have a collaborative service model and a variety of ways we support students in and outside of the classrooms. All teachers collaborate with the student services team to provide scaffolding and differentiation in their content area(s). Students are supported through the following methods:

• Push-in classroom model

  • Co-planning, co-teaching, supporting within the classroom

  • Providing differentiation, accommodations, and modifications as needed

• Pull-out model

  • Evidence-based interventions

  • Preview, review, reinforcement of content in smaller setting

• Consultation and Collaboration

  • With classroom teachers and/or private providers
